Pam Porter- Artist & Teaching CV
Artist’s Statement
I was lucky to grow up in a family of artists and musicians, and from an early age I was encouraged to make things and express myself. Growing up in Carbondale, Colorado and Santa Fe—along with summers at our ancestral home on Lake Michigan—gave me a love of color and beauty that has stayed with me ever since. My approach to art is rooted in play and exploration rather than perfection. I love to teach, and years of working with children deepened my appreciation for curiosity and joy in making art. Now, with adults, I offer welcoming spaces where students can relax, feel inspired, and enjoy the process. Again and again, I’ve seen how this atmosphere leads to beautiful and surprising results—art that reflects each person’s own creative flow.
