For Kids Entering Grades 2-6, 9am-1pm, Tuesdays-Fridays
WHAT ARE MERMAID CAMPS?
These very special camps can be viewed more as an amazing creative retreat, rather than a large bustling camp. Pam's beautiful studio at The Third Street Center in Carbondale is perfect for children who benefit from a creative and calm space with a small group of friends. Camps meet Tuesday-Friday, 9am to 1pm. We'll have three art days at the studio and one pool day at the RVR pool. (Scroll down to see the weekly schedule). Pam is a resident of River Valley Ranch and children who aren't also residents will go as Pam's pool guests. EVERYTHING is included: top notch art materials, pool entry fee, special treats at the pool, etc. Your children will love these camps. Hear what past mermaid campers say...

THIS SUMMER'S THEME: SCOTTISH MERMAIDS
This summer we're focusing on Scottish Mermaids. Pam traveled in Scotland years ago and loved it. The beautiful countryside with castles, lakes (lochs), fields of heather and gorse bushes, wonderful people and most of all the islands (isles) where many mermaids live. Legends....Selkies....
PROJECTS THIS SUMMER:
Loch Ness Monsters, sailboats, fairies, castles, tartans, Highland Games, terriers, cows and sheep. We'll watch the Disney movie, Brave, to get a taste of Scotland. Top-notch materials and fun mermaid surprises are provided, and pool entry and special treats at the pool are all included too!

SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK

DAYS 1, 2 & 3- ART DAYS
9:00:-Kids arrive at Pam's studio for mermaid art, games, and sack lunches on the lawn, along with special mermaid treats. 1:00- Children are picked up at Pam's studio. DAY 4- POOL DAY 9:00- Kids are dropped off at Pam's home in RVR for a short movie. Then we walk to the RVR pool with our lunches and swim gear around 10:30. 10:45- Swim, lunch and play at the pool. 1:00- Kids picked up in front of the RVR clubhouse. NOTE- If it looks like it will rain on Day 4, Pam will change Pool Day to earlier in the week. And if it's rainy all week, we'll have a Mermaid Party at the studio or Pam's home on Day 4. |

AN IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS ABOUT THE POOL:
Mermaid Camps are for kids who are comfortable in the water and have had some swimming instruction. RVR has a lifeguard and Pam will also be supervising BUT she will not be able to focus on just one child. This is especially important this summer since Pam is lowering the starting age to kids entering 1st grade!
Pam is an excellent swimmer and has taught kids' swimming and synchronized swimming classes. Your kids will be well-supervised, will have a great time, and will learn something too!
