Programs for Kids & Teens
After many wonderful seasons of Mermaid Camps and after-school classes, I’ve decided to close that chapter and make space for new creative directions. I’ll still offer occasional pop-up workshops and special camps for kids and teens — take a look at what’s coming up. You're also invited to see photos from past Mermaid Camps and visit the gallery from past after-school classes.

In this hands-on studio class, young artists will explore the playful and surprising process of clay printing — a unique blend of ceramics and printmaking.
Instead of building three-dimensional clay pieces, students will use small 5 x 7-inch slabs of leather-hard clay as printing plates. Each slab becomes a surface for layering colorful slips (liquid clay), carving lines, pressing textures, and experimenting with patterns. Once the design is complete, special printmaking material is placed on top and hand-rolled, transferring the image from the clay to create a vibrant monoprint.
This is a fun, spontaneous class that encourages curiosity and creative risk-taking. Students will explore color, texture, and layering while discovering the magic of pulling a print from clay.
Artists will create a series of small-format prints throughout the week, with time on the final day to share their favorite pieces. No prior ceramics or printmaking experience is needed — just a willingness to experiment and have fun. You can learn more about Clay Printing here.
