Hi, I'm Pam Porter, artist, teacher, and life coach and I live in Carbondale, Colorado. I was lucky enough to grow up in a family where art, music, and creativity were some of the most important things in life. When I was five, my mom gave my sisters and me an art table, and we'd rush home from school every day, eager to see what we would create next. That art table led me to earn a master’s degree in Art Education, become a certified creativity coach, and teach creative classes to children and adults.
I moved back to Carbondale in 2013 with my husband. Now, I teach art to children and adults from my studio at the Third Street Center. I love creating and selling my own art, both locally and on Etsy, and I’m passionate about working with vibrant colors, abstract designs, and watery scenes. As an avid swimmer with a love for anything to do with water, I also find inspiration from water in many forms. Through my teaching and art, I enjoy helping others unlock their natural creativity.
I've created a wonderful space for my students in my own studio at the Third Street Center in Carbondale. Students will love having their own organized work spaces, good tools and materials, two small printing presses, a great art sink and being part of a fun community.
I LOVE to swim, I love Lake Michigan, I love doing art when I get into a flow- when I'm not thinking about what I'm doing- when I'm trusting my instincts and having fun. And because I'm in the flow, the results or finished products are wonderful. I love art with movement in it.
Flow in my own life includes- swimming, feeling good and strong and happy, having time to do my art, feeling organized, feeling like I'm on the cutting edge of something creative. I love new projects.
